The proposal is to remove topsoil from three fields currently in agricultural use (amounting to approximately 35,000 cubic metres of material) and to import, deposit and compact approximately 140,000 cubic metres of clean stone fill material, raising levels from approximately 2.4 m AOD to a minimum of 3.1 m AOD, and creating a level, durable surface for use as a site compound for the contractors constructing the AMEP quay.
