Details of conditions to discharge
• The applicant has submitted an archaeological evaluation report that complies with stage 1 of Condition 9 • The trial trench evaluation did not identify any surviving archaeology within the pumping station and reservoir site • No further archaeological recording work is required either in advance of or during construction of the pumping station and reservoir site • Stage 2 of Condition 9 is therefore not required • I have no objection to the discharge in full of Condition 9. No development shall take place within the boundary of the Elsham Pumping Station and Reservoir site reference number 07641-100001-ELSHWW-XXX-PLG-Z-0001, dated 21 May 2022, by Anglian Water and the new Nitrate Treatment plant reference number XXXXX-100001-ELSHWW-XXX-PLG-Z-0001, dated May 2022, by Anglian Water, until the applicant has submitted the following details to the local planning authority for their written approval:

1. The results of an archaeological evaluation to be undertaken in accordance with the Written Scheme of Investigation for an Archaeological Trial Trench Evaluation, Elsham Reservoir, North Lincolnshire, York Archaeology, March 2023.

2. An updated Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) detailing archaeological mitigation proposals that provides the following: 

i. Measures to ensure the preservation in situ, and/or the preservation by record, of archaeological remains

ii. Methodologies for the recording and recovery of archaeological remains including artefacts and ecofacts

iii. Post-fieldwork processes for assessment, updated project design and analyses

iv. Report contents and arrangements for dissemination, and publication proposals

v. Archive preparation and deposition with recognised repositories including the digital archive with the ADS

vi. A timetable of works in relation to the proposed development, including sufficient notification and allowance of time to ensure that the site work is undertaken and completed in accordance with the mitigation WSI

vii.Arrangements to notify the North Lincolnshire Historic Environment Officer of the commencement of archaeological works at least 10 working days before commencement and a schedule of visits to monitor such works.

viii. A list of all staff involved in the implementation of the WSI including sub-contractors and specialists, their responsibilities, and qualifications.
